Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) play an important role in healthcare, providing essential care and support to patients under the supervision of licensed nursing professionals.
Offered through Florence-Darlington Technical College (FDTC), this 100-hour training program introduces students to the knowledge and practical skills needed to assist patients with everyday activities, including personal care, mobility, and other basic healthcare needs.
Students develop foundational patient care skills while learning the importance of communication, safety, compassion, and professionalism. CNAs may work in a variety of healthcare environments, including nursing homes, long-term care facilities, and other patient care settings.
Upon successful completion of the program, students will be prepared to take the South Carolina Nurse Aide Competency Examination, subject to applicable eligibility requirements.
